Cooking with Singapore Families

In celebration of the International Year of the Family 2004 and published in conjunction with the Family Festival 2004, Cooking with Singapore Families casts the spotlight upon one of life’s simplest pleasures–food, and the added joy gained from sharing it with loved ones. Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, Mr Edmund Chen and wife Xiang Yun, Mr Willie Cheng, Mr Fandi Ahmad and wife Wendy Jacobs, Mr Jack Neo, etc, recount the stories behind the dishes which add spice to their family lives. Also featured are winning entries from the National Library Board’s ‘My Family Recipe’ national writing contest, which saw over 800 entries from Singaporeans from all walks of life.
Cooking with Singapore Families pays tribute to families in Singapore and the recipes devised in their kitchens. Celebrities and well-known personalities join winners of the ‘My Family Recipe’ national writing contest in this book to share recipes which have been passed down as precious heirlooms, or are spontaneous strokes of culinary innovation.
